When was the last time you had an opportunity to
gather together a group of your best friends or colleagues, to have
good old fashioned fun, maybe get a little dirty, and help others at
the same time? Some sore muscles, probably (especially from
laughing), clothes that may never come clean, for sure unless you’re
the Maytag man or have a years supply of Oxyclean, a meaningful day
that you will never forget, absolutely. You may want to bring a
camera along.
Just what is a Mud Pit Pulloff and how does it work
A Mud Pit Pulloff is a simple old fashioned tug of
war that is done over a pit of mud (cooler and more fun that way).
Winners are determined when the last member of an opposing team is
pulled into the mud. This is a single elimination contest where the
final victorious team will win a $50.00 gift card thanks to the
generosity of Valentinos.
It is the goal of Project Hunger to fill up the
truck used by the Salvation Army with various foods greatly needed
in the Grand Island area.
In order to participate, a team will need to know
their total team weight. Entry fees will be in food. For every 100
lbs. a team weighs, they must contribute 20 lbs of dry goods (i.e.
flour, sugar, rice, macaroni etc.), or 1 case of canned goods or
$15.00 in cash.
Concessions
will be
available on site provided by Heartland Lutheran High School
Activities Assn.
The Featured Speaker
is
Coach Ron Brown, from the University of Nebraska Cornhusker Football
Team, will speak at the Pulloff. You may not know Coach Brown is
co-owner of My Bridge Radio which is located here in Grand Island.
